Overview:
In mid-November 2008, 3Wire will be updating the webstore by providing visibility to inventory nationally. This update will allow all customers to see inventory in New York, Minnesota and Carson California.

  1. What is the advantage of the new national warehouse visibility to my parts search? (See examples at end of FAQ)
    • A) You will be able to view our complete national inventory of parts by each 3Wire regional warehouse (NY, MN, CA). This visibility to inventory, along with the option of opening your shipping options from more than one warehouse, gives you more flexibility in your ordering. Depending on the urgency of the situation, you may want to order the part online, or call one of our customer service representatives for additional assistance.

  2. When I order parts on the webstore, how can I be sure I will receive them in a timely manner:
    • Your account is set up with one of the 3Wire locations as your primary shipping point, and may have an additional secondary ship location (i.e. NY then MN), or an “open” distribution network which will allow shipments from all 3Wire locations.
      • If your primary warehouse has the parts they will ship from there immediately.
      • If your primary warehouse does not have the part and your secondary warehouse has the parts then they will allocate and ship “by line” according to available inventory.
      • Shipments are decided by each line in your order as to whether they will ship from another warehouse.
      • A line on your order will not split and ship from two locations, so that any quantity not filled on that line will backorder from the same location that the first quantity has shipped from.

  3. If I choose to have parts come from more than one warehouse, will there be more than one handling fee on my order? What about the shipping charges?
    • There will be only one handling fee charge for the entire order. You will have multiple freight charges for each shipment from each separate warehouse including backordered parts.

  4. Where do parts that are backordered ship from?
    • Your primary shipping warehouse will be your default for full quantity backorders on parts shipped from that location. But should another line have a partial shipment from an alternative 3Wire warehouse location, the backorder on that line will remain with that location and will be filled from there.

  5. How can I determine what my primary warehouse is and make changes?
    • You can contact a Customer Service Representative and ask for assistance to determine your current Distribution Network Code (DNC) . If changes are needed we will help you choose the right shipping option for your business.

  6. Why can't I pick the warehouse where I want my parts shipped when I am online?
    • We wanted to open 3Wire warehouse inventory visibility to customers as soon as possible. More flexibility in ordering options will follow. As always we are very interested to hear what you feel about any changes, so we encourage you to tell us either while on the phone or you can e-mail us at the contacts listed below by region. Your valuable input will aid us in future improvements.

  7. How can I check to see where my parts are shipping from before I complete my order? Can I make changes at this point?
    • In this phase, you will be able to click on the line for each part number you ordered and will be able to revise your order by either changing the quantity requested or deleting the line. At this time, you will not be able to change ship from location.

  8. Can I continue to have my parts shipped only from my primary warehouse?
    • Yes you may and you still have the ability to view national availability online. You may always contact your 3Wire Customer Service Representative and place your order by phone or fax and thereby direct us to ship from another warehouse.
